THE WASHINGTON BALLET
The Washington Ballet is an ensemble of professional ballet dancers based in Washington, D.C. founded by Mary Day back in 1976. It is now directed by award winning dancer and choreographer Edwaard Liang. TWB’s professional company consists of world-class dancers and apprentices who perform a wide variety of works from classical choreography to contemporary pieces. Emilia Ferrara was a student at The Washington School of Ballet for ten years, performed in the original Nutcracker, was dramaturgist for Septime Webre’s Nutcracker, and lead the 75th Anniversary Celebration for the school. She is now a member of its Board of Directors where she serves on the Development Committee and Marketing Committee.

WOMENS ORDINATION CONFERENCE
Founded in 1975, the Women’s Ordination Conference is the oldest and largest organization working to ordain women as priests into an inclusive and accountable Roman Catholic Church. A stalwart feminist voice around the world, WOC’s grassroots-driven movement promotes activism, dialogue, and prayerful witness to call for women’s full equality in the RCC. More than 1,200 people participated in WOC’s first conference, which was also publicly endorsed by 49 religious congregations (men’s and women’s), organizations, and individuals. Emilia Ferrara’s recent article in The Georgetown helped forward WOC’s mission. As a member of the Board of Directors she serves on the Development and Outreach committees.
